GEM/MINERAL/ROCK IDENTIFICATIONS
Ever find a really cool rock and wonder, what is this? Or have a piece of jewelry you love but don’t know the name of the stone? You’re not alone! But we’ve got you covered!
This year’s show will feature an Identification Table staffed by knowledgeable experts who are excited to help. Bring in your rocks, minerals, or gemstones and get them identified by people who know their stuff. It’s a fun, hands-on way to learn more about your treasures and finally get answers to those long-standing questions. Our experts will identify your stones but cannot provide appraisals.
Come curious and you might be surprised by what you discover!
FOOD
We’re excited to welcome the Daisy and Delois Cajun Cookery food truck to the front of the Reserve Center on Friday, April 17 as well as April 18 & 19, serving up delicious Louisiana Cajun and classic American favorites for lunch. Join us on site and enjoy a hot, flavorful meal without having to leave the venue. It’s the perfect way to relax, refuel, and enjoy the day.
LAPIDARY DEMONSTRATIONS
Step into the fascinating world of lapidary—the art of transforming raw stone into stunning works of beauty. Throughout the weekend, live demonstrations will take place in the lobby, showcasing a variety of techniques including beading, cabochon cutting, copper smithing, faceting, and knapping.
Whether you're a curious beginner or a longtime rock enthusiast, these demonstrations offer a unique chance to see skilled artisans at work, ask questions, and learn how these incredible pieces are created. It’s a hands-on glimpse into a craft that blends artistry, precision, and a love of natural materials.
Interested in trying it yourself? Our club offers classes throughout the year in many of these skills—be sure to stop by the Club Table inside the show to learn more and get involved!
