Intergenerational Connection and Learning

We are an educational, friendly club of all ages and experience who enjoy a shared interest in earth science, gems, minerals, fossils, lapidary work, making jewelry and more.

Our club is located in Siloam Springs, Arkansas where our members attend monthly meetings with speakers on various topics of interest regarding gems, minerals, earth science, fossils, lapidary work, jewelry creation and more. Members also have use of a wonderful fully-equipped workshop and have the opportunity to participate in field trips.

Our next field trip will be April 26 to the "Two Dollar Hole".  We will meet at 10:00 at War Eagle Mill and leave from there.  Remember to bring $2 to pay for a carload of people into the site.  You will want to bring a small spade, rock hammer and bucket for collecting.   This location has fossils and some beautiful Pitkin Formation stones.  The Pitkin stones come in blue, red and green and generally have crinoids in them that show up very well when cut and polished.  Of course, if you want, you can also wade in the creek or wet a fishing line.

Remember field trips are for members only.  If you are interested in becoming a member you can send the club an email at the base of this website and we can send you the information.

speakerBe sure to come to our general meeting on April 22  at 7:00 in our Siloam Springs Clubhouse.  We will have a speaker, recap our Spring Show and enjoy refreshments.  Perfect time to get to know other rockhounds and like-minded lapidary enthusiasts.

Kids of all ages are invited to our KIDS club meeting on April 22 at 6:00 pm in our clubhouse in Siloam Springs.  We will continue our series on "Mined Minerals and Their Uses".  In March we discussed iron and steel and worked with magnets and magnetic slime.  Our April meeting will be conducted by Jerry Foster and will cover Copper Mining.  We will have an activity to further understand copper and its uses.
